[In Suzaku's mailbox today is a letter folded into an envelope. Inside of it is a charm made of a small piece of yellow metal that obviously once belonged to a much larger item. The piece of metal has been polished to draw out what is left of the runic inscriptions and decorations.]
I've been told today is a holiday meant to celebrate love, though since so many people may not have that to celebrate, it also celebrates friendship. As such, I wish to give you this as a small token of our friendship. The metal is a shard of a larger piece that was in my trunk when I first arrived here. It is a part of the spear I had to destroy in the war. I'm not sure why it was given to me other than perhaps as a reminder that not all that is lost will never be found again. That even the most unhealing wounds can sometimes be healed as long as you don't give up.
Maybe that doesn't make sense. You see, that spear's ability was to cause wounds that could never be healed. Yet, in a fight in my war, its destruction healed the unhealable wound it had caused at just the right time to win what seemed to be a hopeless battle. This is why you cannot even give up even when you are in extreme pain.
What you wish for so much might just be around the corner.
[Of course Suzaku might find a box of chocolates neatly wrapped, as well as the box being perfectly square without any blemish at all, opening it, Suzaku will find a note alongside all those excellent chocolate balls.]
Leftover from my latest attempt, cheer up a little.
